HSE Policy
HEALTH, SAFETY AND ENVIRONMENT POLICY It is the policy of Buler Engineering Sdn Bhd to carry out its operations and maintenance with the highest regards for the health and safety of all its employees, prevention of damages to its properties, and conservation of the environment, in accordance with its rules and regulations and the relevant legislations by:

Providing adequate HSE-MS program and facilities for all employees.

Eliminating operational and maintenance hazards through line management supervision, audits, inspections and surveillance.

Training on proper usage of equipment, safe working practices, emergency response and effective supervision.

Indoctrinating and enhancing HSE-MS awareness among employees.

Managing and controlling waste materials that are known to have negative impact on the environment.

DRUG AND ALCOHOL POLICY Buler Engineering Sdn. Bhd. recognizes that the use and abuse of drugs or alcohols are detrimental to the health and performance of the employees. The Company prohibits the possession or consumption of drugs or alcohols in its premises or while on duty other than those specifically prescribed by an acknowledged medical practitioner of the Company.
- Employees are strictly prohibited to possess, use, sell or distribute drug or alcohol within the Company premises.
- Employees are strictly prohibited to possess, use, sell or distribute drug or alcohol while on the Company duties.
- Employees under the influence of drug or alcohol shall be prohibited from entering the Company premises.
- The management reserves the right to refuse the entry of prescribed drugs if in their opinion it could have adverse effect on the safety and the efficiency of the work environment.
- The management reserves the right to search any employee and his or her belongings within the Company premises with the objective of the above mentioned.
- The management reserves the right to subject a suspected employee for a medical evaluation or drug and alcohol test. The module of such tests will be determined by the Company.
- The entire above mentioned are also applied to contractors, vendors and suppliers, clients, visitors and persons currently having business dealings with the Company.
HSE-MS PHILOSOPHY The Company places the greatest importance on the safety and health of its employees and employees of its subcontractors and will do its utmost to provide a safe and healthy working environment at all times, to provide proper safety equipment required for the job, to safeguard the natural environment by taking into account of any statutory requirement.

The Company will take all reasonable steps to provide the best possible care in design, construction and maintenance of equipment and facilities for employees and general responsibility of management to set high standards of safety and to carry out its operation with the highest regard for the welfare and health of all its employees. The Company will install and promote safety consciousness among its employees and its subcontractor employees to prevent accidents and injuries. |
All employees are expected to be familiar with the relevant statutory requirements, codes of practice and companys procedures. They must not permit themselves or the men under their control or subcontractor employees to carry out work unsafely. At the same times, it is equally the duty of every employee and contractor employee to exercise personal responsibility and do everything to prevent injury to himself and his colleagues. This include stopping and reporting any work which is unsafe and reporting all accidents and incidents at their work place.
The Company recognizes the prevention of accidents is a joint effort. We should cooperate as a team to make the Company the safest and best place to work in. In taking steps to ensure a safe working environment, the Company and Contractors employees are to aim for no casualties on execution of all works and to prevent the occurrence of lost time and significant accidents.
RESPONSIBILITY TOWARDS HSE-MS
It is true that HSE-MS is everybodys business but the level of responsibility differs. If we are to comprehend the importance of HSE-MS, it is necessary that the responsibility of management and employees in the company be clearly defined as below. This is in addition to the compliance of the Occupational Safety and Health Act (OSHA) 1994 and Environment Quality Act (EQA), 1974.
